Sami Houry is a senior research officer and project manager with the Office of Institutional Studies at Athabasca University. He holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Toronto (1997), an MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland (2000), and a Certified Marketing Research Professional designation from the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (2008). Recently, he completed course requirements for a doctoral program at Athabasca University.

Sami has undertaken quantitative research with numerous information technology and research consulting companies, including Claros Research Corporation in Calgary (now Leger Marketing) and Malatest and Associates in Edmonton where he conducted statistical analyses, feasibility studies, marketing research, program evaluations, and research project management. In his current role as a senior research officer with Athabasca University he undertakes various statistical analyses on database extracts and other secondary and primary research data that inform institutional planning.

Sami’s current doctoral research interests focus on complexity applications in Business. He is investigating early warning signals for critical transitions in socio-economic systems, the coming together of his Physics and Business background.
