millerJamie Miller is a Sessional Professor at OCAD University and an Environmental Engineering PhD candidate at the University of Guelph. His research is based on three case studies and the application of the adaptive cycle in understanding transformations in engineering design thinking. At OCAD, Jamie co-teaches three courses on Biomimicry with the Chair of Design, Bruce Hinds. The classes use nature to inspire alternative “ideation” spaces and to encourage new ways of looking at complex problems.  Currently, they are also exploring ways in which the adaptive cycle can provide alternative design methodologies.

As an engineer, and design professor, he continues to work on transforming our perception of nature and our relationship with technology, through a lens of global equality and sustainability.
