Grossmann_IgorDr. Grossmann’s main research goal is to understand the complex processes that enable individuals to think and act “wisely,” for instance by using cognitive strategies that facilitate the resolution of social conflicts, or by adaptively regulating emotions that undermine their goals and compromise their health. He has also conducted ground-breaking research on socio-ecological processes impacting cultural change. His work was published in such journals as the PNAS, Psychological Science, Journal of Experimental Psychology, and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. His research has been recognized by the APA (Div. 20) Dissertation Award, the President’s New Researcher Award from the Canadian Psychological Association, the Otto Klineberg Intercultural and International Relations Award from the SPSSI, and three awards from the Association for Psychological Science (APS), including the APS Rising Star designation for 2015.
