Stanford scientists Anthony Barnosky and Elizabeth Hadley will speak on “Tipping Points for Planet Earth” on November 10

November 10, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Tipping Point for Planet Earth

Elizabeth A. Hadly holds the Paul S. and Billie Achilles Chair of Environmental Biology at Stanford University, where she has been on the faculty since 1998. She has spent more than 25 years studying environmental change in natural landscapes all over the world. She has authored more than 100 scientific studies, and communicates her discoveries widely through popular and social media.

Anthony D. Barnosky is Executive Director of Stanford University’s Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. His research focuses on past planetary changes and what they mean for understanding today’s global change. Current research focuses on extinctions and climate change.

Anthony Barnosky and Elizabeth Hadly are coauthors of the new book Tipping Point for Planet Earth—How Close Are We To The Edge? (Thomas Dunne / St. Martin’s Press, April 2016), which tells what each of us can do to help the world tip in a direction that is good for people and the planet, rather than one that will forever harm both.
